Megalodon, also known as Carcharodon megalodon, was a massive shark species that lived during the late Oligocene to the early Pleistocene period. In fact, it was one of the largest predators in Earth’s history, reaching an estimated maximum length of up to 60 feet (18 meters) and a weight of up to 100 tons.

Furthermore, it had a massive jaw, equipped with teeth as large as 7 inches (18 cm) long. Additionally, scientists believe that it’s extinction happened around 2.6 million years ago.
